Waterfall Found

The best part of following my nose is the places it takes me.  I had a little extra time between jobs this week.  I wanted to check out something I thought I had glimpsed through a tiny gap in the trees along the road the last time I was driving through that area.  I pulled off and found a rough trail leading up to the gap and beyond I could hear water. Ding!  My nose was on the right track and as I climbed the hill and pushed through the trees it said, 'just a little further'.

Beautiful music coming out of this one as the water slides through the overlapping rock slabs.  But then my nose said 'just a little further' so I looked around to see if the trail led on. It did but it was in really rough shape, with lots of slides from the embankment and downed trees crossing it. Still, it was a path and my nose was still saying 'just a little further'.

The next area of the creek had all of these flowy steps and I thought this would be a good spot to stop but my nose said 'just a little further'.  At this point the trail was less trail and more goat path and it looked a lot less promising headed straight uphill.  I started wishing for my hiking boots instead of my work shoes and vowed to start keeping them with me in the truck, but my nose said, 'just a little further'.

And there it was! Kind of. Still lots of debris in the way and I can't really see it properly yet but it's there and it's big.   I want to see the scale of this now, not just a peek through the trees.  Well, maybe just a little further.

Found it!  A perfectly beautiful hidden spot and totally worth the nose following!  Now how do I get back to the truck without falling in the creek?
