12.29.11: New Fort in Old Fort

The kids and I went exploring in Old Fort.  We stopped in at the Mountain Gateway Museum which was fun and very interesting to the kids who liked the re-built cabins and access to the stream very much.  We enjoyed checking out the vintage toys and shoes and all the different things they have at the museum.

 Then we went to find the new fort that they're building for historical re-enactors, it's called the Davidson's Fort Historic Park.  They're still in the process of building it and are looking for donations to finish it up, check out their website and give them a hand if you can.  I've been watching their progress as I go up and down I-40 for work so it was fun to take the kids in to it and have a poke around.  Now we're looking forward to coming out to see the Spring Muster at the fort in May.
